Over the past several months, I’ve made a major change in the way I approach my photography and time in the field.
This spring, I transitioned into a more mobile lifestyle centered entirely around exploration and photography — allowing me to spend extended time in the landscapes that inspire my work most. Rather than planning around short trips and fixed schedules, I’m now able to follow changing weather, return to locations repeatedly, and remain in remote areas long enough to fully experience the conditions that make powerful images possible.
Already, this shift has led me deeper into Southern Oregon and the Eastern Sierra, where I’ve been photographing alpine lakes, waterfalls fed by snowmelt, geothermal springs, and rapidly changing light across the high desert and Sierra crest. Living and traveling this way has opened up a level of flexibility and connection to the landscape that simply wasn’t possible before.
What excites me most is not just the places themselves, but the opportunity to capture moments that only exist briefly — the kind of fleeting light and atmosphere that can completely transform a photograph for only a few seconds before disappearing again.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll continue photographing throughout the Sierra and Lake Tahoe regions before heading farther north into Idaho and Wyoming in search of new work. I’m incredibly excited about the images beginning to emerge from these travels and look forward to sharing many new releases in the months ahead.
Project Overview
With massive budget cuts to land protection in the United States, our national parks and treasured lands face growing threats. Now more than ever, it is crucial to showcase their beauty to a wider audience and emphasize the urgent need for preservation. This project is a 15-month journey to document every U.S. National Park, capturing their breathtaking landscapes and cultural significance while raising awareness about conservation.
