The Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
– A hidden landscape in one of the most populated areas in the world.
Even though it is located within San Diego City limits it remains one of the wildest stretches of land on the Southern California coast. The efforts and foresight of the people in this area, 2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed -with the chaparral plant community, the rare and elegant Torrey pine trees, miles of unspoiled beaches, lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds and amazing Spring wildflowers. Like looking back in time, see California how it must have looked to the early settlers.
“When the day to day just becomes a little to much I often find myself taking the short drive down the diverse La Jolla coastline. I can enjoy scenic cliff hikes with the option of a cool dip in the ocean along the way. This most recent trip I was rewarded with an epic California sunset, showing The Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve at its very best. A truly magical untouched location within the heart of Southern California.” Cheyne Walls
